Sales Manager/Head of Sales (m/f/d)

X-Spectrum GmbH is committed to scientific progress in the field of research with synchrotron radiation. We develop and sell state-of-the-art detectors for research facilities and laboratories. From our headquarters at the German Electron Synchrotron DESY in Hamburg, we collaborate with partners and scientists from all over the world. Our international team consists of motivated individuals who are passionate about technology. To strengthen our sales team, we are looking for a like-minded Sales Manager/Head of Sales (m/f/d).

Your tasks – diverse and challenging.

  • As Head of Sales, you will be part of the management team and report directly to the management. You will work closely with our internal departments (Production & Development, Marketing and Software Development) and act as a sparring partner to the CEO.
  • You provide ideas for the new orientation of our sales along with leading and coaching the sales team.
  • You are a role model for your team in operational sales – from the acquisition of new customers to the completion of contracts and relationship management.
  • After analyzing the current sales situation, you will define the sales targets and the relevant market segments in coordination with management.
  • You will further develop the sales processes with regard to the increase in sales.
  • Through active support of our key accounts, you have your ear close to the customer and the market and therefore have an overview of current and future customer needs.
  • You are responsible for and maintain the cooperation with our distributors.

Your profile – versatile, charismatic and organized.

  • You have a technical, business or communications university degree or comparable training.
  • You have several years of professional experience in technical sales, ideally in B2B sales.
  • You have already successfully led teams.
  • You have good technical understanding and are interested in research.
  • You are fluent in German and English.
  • You enjoy researching and working out new things.
  • You communicate openly, appreciatively and transparently.

Junior Sales Manager (m/f/d)

Your tasks – diverse and customer-oriented.

  • You will be a contact person for prospective customers and support the acquisition of new customers.
  • Together with our team, you will build customer relationships and provide assistance to existing customers.
  • You will analyze customer requirements and support the complete sales cycle: from the initial contact to the preparation of the offer.
  • You will document the sales processes in our CRM system (Odoo).
  • You will present our products as a proficient representative.
  • You will work closely with the Head of Sales and our internal departments (Production and Development, Marketing and Software Development).

Your profile – communicative, organized and innovative.

  • You have a technical, business or communications university degree or comparable training. Career starters are welcome!
  • You are extroverted and have an open personality – sales is your thing.
  • You have technical understanding and are interested in research.
  • You are fluent in English and German, knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage.
  • You have strong communication skills. You know how to approach and convince people – both on the phone and face-to-face.
  • You are willing and able to travel.

Are you ready to develop sales with us?

We are a constantly growing start-up developing high-tech detectors for research with synchrotron radiation. With our innovative technologies we support scientists in their research projects – be it finding the cause of voltage loss in batteries or determining processes at the core of the Earth. In our modern offices, the newly opened Start-Up Labs in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld, we cooperate with institutes and laboratories from all over the world.

In order to meet the demand from our steadily growing customer base, we are looking for a tech-savy student employee (m/f/d) to join our team.

Your mission

Your task is to build and maintain customer relationships together with our team. Advance our sales department by conducting and coordinating meetings at decision-making level. Furthermore, you will support us in the following tasks:

  • market analysis to identify new sales potential and B2B leads.
  • operational support of our sales team to develop new markets
  • assessment of identified leads through independent communication
  • maintenance of customer contacts in the CRM system

Your profile

You are at an advanced stage of your Bachelor’s or Master’s program and you enjoy researching new things and finding creative solutions. You are enthusiastic about technology and motivated to face new challenges. Furthermore, we are looking for someone with:

  • a communicative personality and a high degree of initiative
  • a structured and team-oriented way of working
  • fluent German and English skills
